At The Swan NS, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students. Our school policies outline the principles, guidelines, and procedures that help ensure the well-being, development, and success of our school community.
Acceptable Use Policy- To ensure that pupils will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the school’s internet resources in a safe and effective manner.
Admissions Policy – Information on our enrolment process, criteria, and procedures for new students.
Administration of Medicine Policy- Guidelines for both parents and staff regarding the safe administration of medicine to pupils if necessary.
Anti-Bullying Policy – Our approach to preventing and addressing bullying, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all.
Child Safeguarding Policy – Procedures in place to safeguard the welfare of every child in accordance with national guidelines.
Code of Behaviour – Guidelines on expectations for student conduct, promoting respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour.
Communications Policy – The purpose of this policy is to provide information and guidelines to parents and staff on parent-staff meetings and parent-staff communication in the Swan NS.
Data Protection Policy – The purpose of this Data Protection Policy is to support the school in meeting its responsibilities with regard to the processing of personal data.
Dignity At Work Policy – The policy is formulated in light of the Labour Relations Commission’s Codes of Practice S.I. No.17/2002 and S.I. 208/2012 for addressing bullying in the workplace and harassment/sexual harassment respectively, together with the Health & Safety Authority Code of Practice (2007) on the prevention and resolution of bullying at work.
Parental Complaints Procedure – This procedure is designed to provide an open and clearly defined process to facilitate parents/legal guardians in raising concerns about their own child/children in an agreed, fair and transparent manner.
The Swan Privacy Notice– This Privacy Notice gives you some helpful information about who we are, what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and why, how long we keep it, and your child’s rights.
Protected Disclosures Policy– This Policy aims to encourage staff to feel confident and safe in raising concerns and disclosing information and provides avenues for staff to do so.
Substance Use Policy– This policy addresses the education of children in relation to alcohol, tobacco, solvents and drugs and the procedures for managing incidents relating to these substances.
Supervision Policy– This Policy aims to develop a framework that effectively ensures, as far as is practicable, the safety of children while at play on the yard or while engaged in school related activities, to observe and monitor behavioural patterns outside the confines of the classroom and to contribute to effective school management and comply with relevant legislation.
