9/02/26 - 13 /02/26 Wellbeing Week. 🧘
We are delighted to have been granted funding for a sensory garden having applied for the 'Education for Sustainable Development' grant. At present, we are in the planning stages with samples of the children's landscaping to be seen below. This project will span from early Spring into summer with a committee comprised of students and local volunteers involved throughout. Ms. Murphy will be overseeing the project. Upon completion it is hoped that the sensory garden will not only function as a wonderful school resource, but also a community resource with the fruits being made available to those in the local community. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer in this project please contact the school by phone.
At the beginning of September 2025 it was decided as a staff to make a conscious effort to promote wellbeing in our school. Ms. Murphy, having studied Pilates and Yoga to certification level, drafted an initiative detailing how this could be carried out practically, and so, Glow and Grow was born! The children have been practicing yoga every Friday since September 2025 and spend 2 mornings per week exploring mindfulness, breathwork, positive affirmations, mindset development, and resilience building. From January 2026 the children and Ms. Murphy will be practicing Pilates. The initiative ties in with our school's ambition to achieve an Amber flag. See the image carousel below for more.
